With his autobiography “See A Little Light: The Trail of Rage and Melody” finally due out next month, Bob Mould is gearing up for a busy summer that will include a words-and-music book tour, dates with his Blowoff DJ side project, an opening slot at two giant Foo Fighters shows in the U.K. and the reissue of Sugar’s classic debut Copper Blue on audiophile vinyl. Peter Buck is no stranger to jumping on stage for a good jam, so when former Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould swung through Athens, Ga., on July 25, 1990, in support of Black Sheets of Rain, the R.E.M. guitarist pitched in on a crunchy cover of Neil Young’s classic-rock staple “Cinnamon Girl” (minus the coda, though). Check out the clip above — and stick around for the second half of the video, which features Mould and his band trotting out Cheap Trick’s “Surrender.”
